Music for when I need to get energized
One more week until Mutation March! I couldn’t think of what to write that’s directly tied to the art series, so how about I share some of my favorite tunes for hyping myself up to get stuff done?
Avatar - “For The Swarm”
Gotta go to work, work, work, work, GOTTA WORK!!
Actually, pretty much any Avatar song will do the trick. I’ve seen them live twice now, going for a third this summer. The only thing I don’t like about “For The Swarm” is it’s too short! But, that may be for the best. Any longer and it would be too powerful. \m/
PPL MVR - “MOVE”
I am also ready to rock out to anything by these cryptids. Just look at these goofballs! I would love to see them live, though they seem to have mostly gone dormant in recent years.
The Stupendium - “Ad Infinitum”
Now, I don’t entirely understand what is going on with this song. It’s inspired by a game called Deltarune and one of its character. I have never played it, so there’s a lot of context I am missing. But I am hooked by the high-energy, overstimulating nonsense. And I’ve got a soft spot for clowny weirdos.
Tom Cardy - “Transcendental Cha Cha Cha”
Do not ask me to sit still during this song, I cannot do it. It is just too absurd and delightful. Also, I love the animated music video.
Getter Jaani - “Rockefeller Street (New Nightcore)”
I had been hearing this song for years before learning this was a sped up version of a song by Getter Jaani. I knew this remixed version best from viral videos of people performing a dance that hits hard at 0:42 in the song. I can’t not do the motions at that part every time.
