What is Mutation March?

“Mutation March” is a 31-day art challenge I began in 2018. Every day in the month of March, draw an animal but make them weird. “Weird” can be anything—surreal, horrific, whimsical, trippy, nightmarish, combined with another animal or element—whatever it is that inspires and makes you dig a little deeper. And while this is set up to be done as a typical month-long art challenge—create one drawing per day, per prompt—I take it further for myself to see how many different ideas I can generate from one prompt. This very quickly descends into creative madness.
