My passion project is becoming another year older, and I am becoming a bit wiser how to approach it. Two notable changes for Year Seven—we have a subtitle/theme, and I am departing from my mission of creating as many different concepts as I can in a limited timeframe. Just one drawing per prompt this year, like a sane and reasonable art challenge.

As for the introduction of a theme, after years of reaching as far as I could to bring in novel ideas, I was beginning to feel a lack of depth? So let’s add another “restriction”—animal drawings must be some interpretation of the concept “weird” AND need to have a plant aesthetic or influence.

I’m also reducing the amount of “content” I create this year, lightly withdrawing from a few popular social media platforms as well as not making daily videos. Last year, I tried to do it all and host this series across as many different sites as possible, and I felt worse off by the end. Here’s to a more focused approach and productive experimentation!
