Mutation March 2022
This year included a big shift for me—these were all done on hot press watercolor paper. Previously, everything was done in a single, bound sketchbook that was never intended for water media (but was a good sport about it). I had never worked with hot press paper before, so that was definitely a challenging learning curve. The paint behaves so differently! But unlike cold press watercolor paper and its bumpy texture, the hot press paper was a smooth delight for my ballpoint pen sketches.
This year also marked the first time someone got a tattoo of one of my animals (lookin’ at you, sweet little strawberry fox)!
